We have a requirement to fill the role of Endoscopy Manager for a client based in Margate, Kent.

Overall Aims of the post:

To be managerially and professionally responsible for all clinical services and staff within the Endoscopy Unit.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • To be responsible for the clinical and operational management of the Endoscopy Unit. The post-holder will also have responsibility to provide professional leadership of the Endoscopy Unit on a daily basis.
  • To be responsible for the delivery of a high standard of patient care within agreed financial limits.
  • To be expected to contribute fully to the development and achievement of company objectives and attend Heads of Departments and other relevant meetings.
  • To formulate endoscopy policies and procedures and ensure same are ratified and updated each year in accordance with Hospital Policy.
  • To have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of all regulations governing endoscopy units, both local and nationally.
  • To ensure that the best interests of the patient are met at all times.
  • To ensure that the environment is safe for patients, visitors and staff in accordance with local and national guidelines.
  • To maintain written records of objectives, action plans and evaluation of programmes

Essential Criteria:

Education and Qualification
 Registered Nurse Part 1 or equivalent ODP qualification
 Evidence of Post-basic development
Knowledge and experience required to do the job
 In depth knowledge of CFPP 01-06
 Experience at junior sister / charge nurse in Endoscopy leading lists
 Proven evidence and sound knowledge base of GRS and JAG submissions
 Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Endoscopy Managerial role
 Knowledge of Endoscopy reporting systems and production of data, statistics and audits for JAG
 Experience of undertaking Appraisals/Appraisal training
 A working knowledge of CQC regulations and requirements

 

Specific Technical/Specialist skills to do the job:

Ability to teach all grades of staff
 Scope cleaning
 Decontamination processes.
 Dealing with emergency situations within the Endoscopy department.
 Assisting therapeutic procedures
 Endoscopy – invasive procedures
Personal attributes required to do the job
 Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a multi- disciplinary team
 Good leadership and organisational skills
 Good communication skills
 Good ICT skills
 Flexible/Adaptable
 Committed to patient focused care

Desirable Criteria:

Education and Qualification
 ENB 906 or willingness to complete JAG accredited course within first year in post
 Degree or Diploma in relevant subject area / Endoscopy
 Line management training
Knowledge and experience required to do the job
 Previous experience in the Independent Sector
